Happy New Year from our family at Foundation Haiti Project. As we are only hours away from 2019, it’s only fitting that we reflect back, with a thankful heart, on all the things God allowed us to be a part of in 2018.
May 2018 – Our Ohio foundation family took a trip to Haiti. On that trip, Charlene Gammalo’s heart was turned upside down for the people of Haiti. She now serves as the secretary of Foundation Haiti Project and has been moving heaven and earth to help the kids she met there. The Spring trip held revivals in Jean Rabel, orphanage visits in Ornaville, and family visits in Pernier. Physical needs were met and hearts were turned to Jesus.
June 2018- Although Foundation Haiti Project had been ministering in Haiti since 2010, it was with great joy that we officially created a board of directors and legalized the foundation in Haiti.
Summer 2018- Throughout the summer, there were many fundraising activities for the foundation; jewelry parties, a dine and donate through Applebee’s, and donation collections that resulted in a full shipping container being sent to Haiti later in the fall.
September/October 2018- At the end of September, several of our board members, along with a dear friend and advisor to the foundation returned to Haiti to distribute the donations that were collected over the summer.At the end of the trip, after most many of the board members had returned stateside, a 5.9 earthquake hit the northern coast of Haiti. The foundation president was still in country and was able to mobilize supplies and a team to provide relief to the victims of the earthquake. Along with a nuse from Louisiana, our FHP team was able to provide medical care for nearly 300 Haitians in three days.
November 2018- The vision for Cowboy’s Castle was publically casted. FHP will be building a children’s home in Haiti and hoping to break ground in 2019. The children’s home will be in memory of a dear friend, Brian “Cowboy” Ferguson. A beautiful weekend was spent in Cowboy’s hometown, meeting with friends and family, and even speaking at his home church.
December 2018- The FHP president returned to Haiti to meet with the Haitian president along with some members of other foundations to discuss and plan out some big things for 2019.
We are thankful for the year God provided us to join in His work. We are thankful to you, our partners in ministry- through your prayers, encouragement, time, donations, and finances. We are expectantly waiting for what lies before us and the people of Haiti in 2019!
20 Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, 21 to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen. Ephesians 3:20-21
