A CALL TO ACTION

On the evening of Saturday, Oct 6, a 5.9 magnitude earthquake shook Northern Haiti.  Foundation Haiti Project was finishing up a week long mission trip. The team from that week had already touched down in America, but the president of the foundation and other board members who live in Haiti still remains.  By the grace of God, only tremors could be felt in the capital city of Port-au-Prince, where FHP board members were. But the tremors were a call to action. Our president made the decision to delay his return home indefinitely, until the needs of those affected most were met.  Immediately, FHP members began raising funds, collecting supplies, and meeting with officials to gain access to the areas that were in need. https://youtu.be/vdF2NEI8AKU

By Monday morning, meetings were set at the palace to be able to get permission to travel into Northern Haiti.  Rice, beans, oil, and water were purchased over the next few days to be able to distribute. A nurse from Louisiana was making travel arrangements to meet the team in Port-au-Prince in order to provide medical care to the wounded and sick.  All of these things would not have been possible without the prayers, donations, and support given by our FHP family and friends. Thank you for your quick response to the needs.

Thursday morning, our FHP team of 5 headed north.  The truck fully stocked with food, water, medical supplies, and the hands and feet of Jesus.  Their first stop was Gros Morne. There the team distributed 20, 25 lbs bags of rice and over 600 bags of water.  A medical clinic was set up and nearly 100 people were seen within the span of a few hours. https://youtu.be/_Uj_krj6WOA

The next day the team was off again, heading north.  This time the stop was Port-de-Paix. There the team was able to continue to distribute food and water and provide medical care to almost 60 people at a clinic set up in the cleft of a rock.  The team also made a stop at the local hospital and was able to gift the medical director with a first response bag donated by a physician in Louisiana.

During their 3-day journey to northern Haiti, the team was also able to visit the orphanage FHP partners with in Jean Rabel.  The nurse on the team was able to examine all of the children there and reported a clean bill of health  https://youtu.be/PCpa2bmVFXg

Again we would like to say thank you to all of you who contributed to the earthquake relief efforts made by Foundation Haiti Project.  It begins with you – with your prayers and support. We are thankful for your partnership in ministry!

Until next time….Bondye beni-w!
